Lagoa Pequena

In Lagoa Pequena, a district of Florianópolis, Brazil, RemRent lists 161 homes for rent, gathered from the country's major portals. Within Lagoa Pequena, the list breaks down into 28 houses, 5 studios and 128 apartments, a smaller set than the whole of Florianópolis. The photo filters do more of the work at this scale, because the homes share a location and differ in what is inside them. A vision model goes through the photos of each ad and records what is visible: a pool, a gym, a playground, a balcony, a doorman's desk, and inside the home the furniture, the flooring and the kitchen appliances. Each of those is a filter. A bathroom count or a floor area is not read this way; it comes from the ad. When two agents advertise the same apartment in Lagoa Pequena, the photo match turns the two ads into one card, with the link to each original ad kept on it. Start with the type of home and the bedroom count, then add the photo filters one at a time and watch the result count; in a single district the list gets short after a few filters, and what remains can be set side by side.
