Privacy Policy

We handle two different sets of data. (a) Data about the people who use RemRent: your name, email, a hashed, single-use login code, your purchase history, a record of the listings you have opened, saved searches, technical browsing data and a record of how you reached us; the legal basis is performing our contract with you and meeting our legal duties — and, for that last record, legitimate interest. We keep that data for as long as we run the service. (b) Data inside other people's public listings: we receive a listing exactly as it was published on the source portal, and that technical copy can carry the advertiser's details — a phone number, an email address or a professional registration number — because they are part of the published ad; the legal basis here is legitimate interest, together with the safeguards below.

Advertisers' phone numbers, email addresses and names are not part of what we show or of what you buy: using a contact gives you the source portal's name, the direct link and the price shown there. We do not pass those details on to third parties, and we never sell personal data.

The technical copy of a listing is for internal use and stays with us for as long as we run the service: it exists so the platform can work, and for nothing else.

We collect information you provide when creating an account, making purchases, and using our services.

• Account information (name, email, hashed login code)
• Payment details (processed securely via Stripe and Mercado Pago)
• Usage data (search queries, saved filters, listing views)
• Device and browser information for analytics

Your data is used to deliver our services, process payments, send notifications, and improve our platform.

To run the service, we rely on providers that act as processors, handling data on our behalf and on our instructions: AI services (which write the descriptions and the translations), image storage, our payment provider, error monitoring and the site usage measurement tools (Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity), which record how the site is used. The legal basis for that measurement is legitimate interest, and you can turn it off at any time in the Cookie Policy. Some of them are based outside Brazil; those international transfers are made under standard contractual clauses. We do not sell, rent out or hand over personal data for third-party advertising.

We use cookies to keep your session, remember your preferences and measure how the site is used. The legal basis for usage measurement is legitimate interest; you can turn it off at any time through the "Turn off measurement" link in the notice or the control in the Cookie Policy, where we also explain each cookie.

For price comparisons we use an essential cookie, rr_pcm, and a few entries in your browser's storage; the Cookie Policy explains each one.

You can ask us to confirm whether we process your data, to give you a copy of it, to correct or anonymize it, to port it to another provider, to delete it and to tell you who we have shared it with. To use any of these rights, write to our data protection officer: the request is free and answered within 15 days.

No RemRent account is needed to ask us to delete data from a listing you posted — write to our data protection officer by email. We reply within 15 days, and a single request can remove everything linked to you or to your agency.

When you reach RemRent through a tagged link in one of our posts, we record on your account the campaign tag that link carried, the domain of the site that sent you and the page you landed on — never the full address of the page you came from. That record holds no IP address and nothing about your browser; the session record does keep your IP address and browser details, for as long as the session lasts. We use it to learn which channels bring us the people who go on to buy, and the legal basis is legitimate interest. It is kept alongside your account, and if you would rather we did not measure this, write to our data protection officer.

The LGPD puts concrete duties on us, and this is how we meet them: we name a legal basis for every processing purpose, we keep a data protection officer you can write to, we honor the rights the law grants you, and we answer every request about your data within 15 days. If our answer does not settle the matter, you can take it to Brazil's National Data Protection Authority.
