About RemRent
RemRent is a rental search for Brazil, and it is still pre-launch.
There was no way to search Brazil's rentals in English. Now there is.
It brings together rentals from Brazil's major listing sites, so the same home posted on three sites becomes one clean card and you search in one place instead of across ten open tabs.
It is built by one person — a full-stack engineer who left Ukraine in 2022 and spent months looking for a place to live across several countries, Brazil among the last of them.
Because so many ads were already gone or looked nothing like their photos, RemRent checks each listing against the home's own pictures instead of trusting the description.
The blog shares plain-language guides to renting in Brazil — documents, guarantors, deposits and contracts — written for the newcomers and foreigners the big portals tend to overlook.
About Vince
The black cat that walks across the site is Vince — Vincent, in full. He was born in Mariupol, and the founder's wife brought him home to Odesa; the two of them fell for him from his first photo.
When they left Ukraine in 2022, Vince went with them — Ukraine, Ireland, Montenegro, and finally Argentina, many thousands of kilometers by car across Europe. Half a year after they reached Argentina, in 2023, his heart stopped, and he could not be saved. The cat on the site is in his memory.
There is an old tradition of letting the cat be the first to step into a new home. It suits what RemRent is for — helping people find a new home, often far from the one they left.
