Apartments and houses for rent in Rio de Janeiro
6,448 listings
RemRent lists 6,448 homes for rent in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, gathered from the country's major portals. The median advertised rent is R$ 4,200 a month: R$ 2,000 for one bedroom, R$ 2,252 for two bedrooms, R$ 10,000 for three or more. Those figures come from 51,162 ads and were measured on Sep 17, 2026. Barra da Tijuca and Recreio dos Bandeirantes carry more listings than any other district of Rio de Janeiro, which makes them the first two to open. The district filter narrows the grid to one district, and a district can also be opened as a page of its own, with the same grid and the same filters. The map search works in the other direction. Drag or zoom the map and the grid keeps only the homes inside the frame, which can be a whole district, two neighboring ones, or a few blocks around one address. The filters set at city level (price, bedrooms, what the photos show) apply the same way inside a district. Every card, at either level, keeps the link to the original ad, and the rent on it is the amount advertised there. One home advertised on several portals is one card here, because the ads are matched by their photos and joined. For a first pass over Rio de Janeiro, open Barra da Tijuca, note what a given budget rents there, then open Recreio dos Bandeirantes and compare; the two districts that lead the supply give a reference for the rest of the city.

What the monthly bill is made of
Rent itself is quoted on all 5 portals in the sample. The extras below are not — each line shows how many portals publish it.
| Item | Median | Ads | Portals |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rent | R$ 4,200 (≈ US$ 815) | 51,162 ads | 5 |
| Condomínio | R$ 1,300 (≈ US$ 252) | 38,560 ads | 4 |
| IPTU (property tax) | R$ 390 (≈ US$ 76) | 25,757 ads | 3 |
| Condomínio + IPTU, quoted together | R$ 663 (≈ US$ 129) | 4,617 ads | 1 |
For the middle ad among those that publish both, the condomínio is about 20% of rent plus condomínio — half sit below that share, half above.

How these figures were measured
The prices on this page are recomputed every night from the ads that are live: this reading comes from 51,162 rental ads active on Sep 17, 2026.
Every figure is the advertised rent on its own. The condomínio charge for the building and the IPTU property tax are counted separately and are never folded into these numbers.
Dollar figures on this page are a conversion, not a second measurement: they use one frozen rate, 5.1527 reais to the dollar, from the Banco Central do Brasil PTAX reading for Sep 16, 2026.
